LinkedIn Series: #7

Day 7 of treating LinkedIn like a blog. :)

Regardless of round 2 of the flu in our home, I was able to stick with my usual 3:30am study sessions followed by 5am gym. The combination of early productivity before momming and work tends to keep the self doubt at bay.

Then I received a notification that made me scream. How on earth was I the one on the other side of this email??

An invitation to be on the newest season of Web Dev Challenge. 😱

((Basically The Great British Bake Off except swap out the tasty baked goods with delicious programming.))

I immediately started messaging my tech circle friends in freakish excitement. Don't worry, it was not an echo chamber of positivity. A couple folks also offered a reality check alongside some very aggressive encouragement. :)

Saturday, the first "slow" day of the week, I woke up early to squeeze in some studying before the kids were up, which granted me too much time to reflect...and I ended up in a pit of self-doubt.

I can usually ignore the little voice in my head asking me "who the heck do you think you are?" A speck of a thing who thinks she can walk among giants, apparently.

So here we go! It's crunch time. The DSD cohort starts this week. Six weeks of intensive work before the filming of Web Dev Challenge. That, and my morning (and let's face it, additional evening) studies needs to be enough to prove to myself (ok and like thousands of viewers) that I am on the right path.

2025 is turning out to be the enormous kick in the butt I've needed to make significant progress on this journey. 😅
