Day 20 of treating LinkedIn like a blog. :)

And I will stop counting after today. I know so many of you will be relieved. 😆

This was my second experience at RenderATL (Render Atlanta) and it was the complete opposite of last year. It's kind of amazing how much can change in 365 days.

I showed up in 2024 knowing all of one person and this year (in the most humble way possible) I was recognized by friends in several communities. I ran into folks from 100devs, LGT, DSD, and Torc, as well as other friends I've made just from attending conferences. I have so many selfies-with-friends on my phone that I kind of hate my reflection at the moment. 🤣 🤣

Obviously I loved emceeing. 😍 It was terrifying but so exciting when the audience laughed at a joke. Researching and preparing for each intro was a really fun task, but I even jumped in and did an intro with only an hour's notice, so that was kind of cool, too. What an honor, really. ❤️

Because of hosting duties, I was unable to attend any talks other than the ones I introduced. Some of my favorite events were the Pre-Render Lightening Talks, Torc ambassador meetup, the Netflix event, MakeSwift PuttPutt, and catching the rooftop views early this year. I had such wonderful chats with friends - old and new - and received meaningful advice, too. It's truly special being face to face with your people. Speaking of which, chill breakfasts and dinners are also at the top of my favorites. 🥰

Rounding out the trip with a visit to the aquarium was perfect. Watching the enormous whale sharks move slowly but with purpose was a wonderful way to reflect on my own journey.

Thank you so much to everyone that approached me, reciprocated my hugs, talked to me, shared advice, their story, came to my intros, smiled. I was so overwhelmed with love and support, it's been tough readjusting now that I am home. (I ADORE my family - you know what I mean! haha)

Each experience has been like a carefully placed domino and I am so grateful to those that have given me these opportunities. I just know the pieces will eventually align so I can tip the first one and make the transition.
[deep, right? lol]

XOXOXO

I posted 5 million photos on the bird (roxanacodes) and the butterfly (roxyrodbeck), but here are a couple more just because. ❤️
