LinkedIn Series: #16
Hi! I'm Roxy. I have a background in math education, library and information science, web development, as well as content creation. I am most proud of my Tube Feed Tracker web app that is used by a niche part of the medical community around the world daily. I've spoken at conferences, appeared on podcasts, and was a guest on season 2 of CodeTV's Web Dev Challenge. I love learning, teaching, and having fun in tech. :)
April 2025: Day 16 of treating LinkedIn like a blog!
I very appropriately wore my Sad Computer tshirt today. Initially it was due to a rough morning dealing with a horse fly infestation. Super fun, right? But then I got one of those emails. After a couple rounds of interviews, I was removed from the running. Le sigh.
While it's not my first rejection, it doesn't sting any less. If you are in tech, I know you know. They're just keeping things realistic, right? :)
On the bright side, I have...
- improved my resume and LinkedIn profile
- discovered the incredible impact of a referral
- cleaned up my behavioral interview responses
- dug deep into interview prep
- learned about a new-to-me role
- implemented the "just make a friend" mindset
- started filling in my gaps
- created a little pre-interview ritual.
A wise person very recently told me, "Take 60 seconds to feel sad. Then let it go." I may or may not have gone over 60 seconds, but I am trying. :)

((Enjoy completely opposite photos of me being a sad girl with my Sad Computer vs my usual ridiculous resilience studying at 4am and trying new skills at 5am.))
