Hi! I'm Roxy. I have a background in math education, library and information science, web development, as well as content creation. I am most proud of my Tube Feed Tracker web app that is used by a niche part of the medical community around the world daily. I've spoken at conferences, appeared on podcasts, and was a guest on season 2 of CodeTV's Web Dev Challenge. I love learning, teaching, and having fun in tech. :)

April 2025: “Day 14 of treating Linkedin like a blog.”

In quotes because a few people have teased me about it. hahaha IT'S OK because it just means I'm popping up in your feed, right? lol

So far I have done two "chosen one" streams with the 100Devs community and they were two very different experiences - from my end. My first stream on April 4th was more about my back story. Everyone was so incredibly supportive. The comments had me wiping my eyes a bit. 🥹

The latest stream on April 10th, was focused on how one hour of focus per day was going, and the behavioral questions. This one required less vulnerability and more brain power (which doing live...does require vulnerability lol). I answered two behavioral questions and Leon and the 100devs community helped me whittle them down enough to where I wasn't yapping away. 😅 Instead of tearing up when I read the comments later I was primarily cracking up. These folks are hilarious! I love a good side chat. 🤣

This upcoming week I have to use my one hour per day (2 hours per weekend day!) to fix up the rest of my behavioral questions, share them with the community, and watch Danny's Linkedin tutorial while making edits to my own profile. IF there's time I can hit up Codewars.

Other awesome things going on??
I drove to the Dallas area for a whirlwind few hours. Arrived at 5pm for dinner with friends followed by the DSD ReactJS meetup and left at close to 4am (because I am a nut).
I wanted to support the Dallas Software Developers Group "cohort graduation" and get on stage with my teammate, Josh, to present our project. I was so nervous I set my paper down so my hands wouldn't shake and then talked so fast that Josh had to do the fastest demo of his life! Whoops! lol
Everyone was super sweet. 🥰 Even though our team lead roasted our code in her talk shortly after. HAHA

Coming up this week is React Miami! 🌴 Definitely looking forward to learning and networking my butt off and then visiting my aunts, uncles, and cousins afterward. ❤️
